She’s taken on the challenge to make advertising on Google less scary and is on a mission to empower business owners to DIY their Google Ads with total control and strategy to go with it.
It’s time to get to know the brain behind Sunday Digital and talk business, advertising and wearing just one more hat as a Startup.
Let’s dive right in…
I’m Kaity! I specialise in helping online stores and marketers profitably use Google Ads. I do this both in a done-for-you capacity with 1:1 clients and through a comprehensive online course where I teach the exact same strategy I use with my private clients—for a fraction of the price. I’m passionate about educating women in business to confidently use paid ads, minus the tech overwhelm. Because who’s got time for that?
Nearly 10 years ago I was running my own e-commerce business and fell in love with using Google Ads to grow my store. Google Ads is such a powerful tool, if you know how to use it.
There wasn’t any good training around at the time, so I moved
agency-side to follow my ads passion. During that time I worked with business royalty such as Showpo and self-development author Brian Tracy and was mentored by the best in the industry.
When I had my second child in 2018, I left my agency job determined to create a comprehensive course that I wish I had access to back as an e-commerce business owner. And the rest is history.
Startups should 100% get their head around DIY Google Ads. Understanding the ins and outs not only avoids paying expensive ad manager fees, it also saves you the hassle (and cost) to hire someone who doesn’t understand their business.
The beauty in understanding how to run your own Google Ads is that nobody understands your business like you do. It also makes you agile so you can act quickly and doesn’t tie you to a third-party service provider that mightn’t be the right fit for you in the long run.
Startups need to be scrappy and wear a lot of hats. And upskilling in Google Ads should be one of those hats.
They get your product out there. You can have the best products or services and a killer website, but if no one knows how to find you then you’ve got a huge problem. SEO is great, but some Google Ads support doesn’t go astray for that extra website traffic (that is targeted and might just convert).
Understand your margins and numbers. How much does it cost to produce your products and is there breathing room to incorporate ad spend?
Know your current stats. Use Google Analytics to get your head around conversion rate, average order value, etc.
Understand your target market. Find out who they are and how they search for your products or services.
Have a solid website that converts people. Driving traffic to a website that’s not optimised to ‘please’ your audience is like pouring your hard-earned dollars down the drain.
Have a solid product and service offering. Optimise your product range so it’s a tempting proposition before you spend on Google Ads.
Apparently all digital marketers are sharks who will stooge you. I promise I’m not one!!
Funnily enough, I just received this email:
“I have learnt EVERYTHING I wanted to learn and SO much more!! I really tried to learn google ads on my own, and I researched everything (I tried for MONTHS) and I just could not work it out. Now I know why. Google ads is so complex!”
My job is done when I’ve helped a business owner to confidently DIY their Google Ads with immediate results for their business. I just love that feeling!
