The three-zone framework: full manual, full automation, and the collaborative middle ground where most of us should actually live
What Kinsey never hands off to AI, and why her Instagram stories remain stubbornly human
How to build foundational AI skills before you even think about automation or agentic AI
Why the Her AI Era Summit is back for year two (and how to grab your free ticket)
Kinsey Soderberg: “When you start using AI tools, sit down and think, what do I feel good about automating? What do I not want to automate? And then there’s also like the middle ground, most of my life lives in that middle ground. There’s actually not a lot of things that I just fully automate from start to finish.”
Kinsey Soderberg: “I really did find AI has saved me so much time. I did the math and found that I was saving up to 15 hours every week using AI tools in my business. I’ve honestly seen so much more growth in visibility audience revenue in the past few years using AI tools in my business. And it’s been really, really awesome. It’s been a journey and I’m loving it. And I want to help other people use AI tools too.”

Hey, hey, and welcome back to the podcast. In today’s episode, we are answering a guest expert question from episode 27, where fractional CMO Madelyn Victoria was wondering the following. I’ve always wondered what’s the line between AI being helpful and it overstepping the line.
I want to save time, but also don’t want to interfere with the customer journey. So if you’ve also been too scared to fully lean into AI for your business, this episode is absolutely for you. Today we’re exploring how AI can make your customer experience feel more human and where that promise falls apart if you’re not careful. And to answer this question, I’ve invited the awesome Kinsey Soderberg.
who is co founder of Her AI Club, the community for women doing next level AI. Kinsey is the systems and automation half of the duo behind Her AI Club, and she specializes in building AI that runs your business without losing your voice. Kinsey and her co founder Joyce have built a community of women brainstorming and building real AI systems.
today we are going to get into the part that nobody really talks enough about. How you keep your brand feeling like you while adding AI into the mix. So welcome to the show, Kinsey.
Kinsey Soderberg (01:19)
Thank you so much for having me. I’m so excited to be here.
Nadine (01:22)
I think this chat’s been overdue for quite some time. So I’m super excited we managed to line it up. before we get stuck into all things AI, I always feel like it’s best if you, as the guest, give us a little bit of background around how you ended up where you are today, who you serve and all the things that go with it.
Kinsey Soderberg (01:43)
Yes, yeah, so I’m Kindy of Authentic AI and her AI Club. like Nadine said, I have a background in kind of branding and car content marketing for online businesses. Back in 2018, I was an itty bitty entrepreneur trying to figure out what the heck I wanted to do and quickly found out that I really enjoyed helping people show up for their business in an authentic way that feels aligned and good to them.
having fun in their business with content marketing and branding and all that jazz. I was building my business, my original brand for about four and a half years. And then Chat GPT hit the scene, right? Back in like twenty twenty two, twenty twenty three, like right at that like turning point. everyone was like whispering like, if you try Chat GPT, it writes your emails for you. And I’ll be honest, I was kind of like, Ew no.
I don’t need a robot to write
my emails for me. I I am proud of my email, you know, whatever. And I was like, I honestly true was kind of truly was kind of like, isn’t the internet fake enough as it is? I saw like AI kind of becoming this thing that was just going to turn content more and more generic,
which of course we have seen. also I was worried about creativity, critical thinking skills. I was worried about what this would mean for our society and our future and all that stuff.
And so for a while there, a few months after I heard about AI, I was like, not into it, you know, poo-pooing it for sure. And then about, you know, a few months into it, I was listening, I was on a long drive and listening to a podcast. And I think a woman just started talking about AI tools. And I kind of had one of those realizations where I like, AI is here. And instead of being grumpy about it and being like, ooh, don’t use it.
Probably it would be more productive to get curious about it and try to figure out how I can use AI in a way that feels aligned and authentic and good to me and my business in a way that’s saving me time, without sacrificing my thought leadership, my quality of work, all that stuff. And that’s when I started kind of starting to dabble and pivot into AI tools. I quickly realized.
Whoa, these are freaking awesome. Like these tools are freaking awesome. But I will say I think that it’s
Nadine (03:55)
Ha ha ha ha.
Kinsey Soderberg (03:59)
in the way you use it. I think that people need to be intentional about the way they use AI tools, thoughtful. it the way they integrate into their business for sure, like to make sure it feels aligned, not icky, that your brand is still showing up in an authentic way, that’s still producing quality work that are up to your standards. But then also I think people need to be intentional in the way they use AI in their day-to-day workflows.
I always say AI can help you expand your creativity and keep your creative spark going. It can help you actually practice your critical thinking skills on a daily basis, but only if you’re intentionally using them in a certain way, right? And so
I I really did find AI has saved me so much time. I did the math like a year ago, maybe two now. so it’s probably increased at this point, but I found that I was saving
up to 15 hours every week using AI tools in
Nadine (04:50)
Yeah, wow.
Kinsey Soderberg (04:51)
my business. I’ve honestly seen so much more growth in visibility audience revenue in the past couple few years using AI tools on a regular basis in my business. and it’s been really, really awesome for sure. But yeah, it’s been a journey and I’m loving it. And I want to like just help other people use AI tools
too.
Specifically women entrepreneurs, though if we have any dude listeners out there, it’s okay. You’re welcome to.
Nadine (05:20)
I love your honesty around being a bit skeptical at the beginning. I feel like that was a lot of us. And to be honest, coming from a copywriting background, I was quite frustrated when AI entered the scene. You know, like it’s definitely shaken up our profession and the demand for what we do. But yeah, I’ve started to lean in.
primarily thanks to Her AI Club, which finally gave me a kick up the butt, to start experimenting. And yeah, it’s just so interesting, so powerful. It opens up so many opportunities, which we’re going to explore. But a little bit of background as well, which is interesting around that that pivot. So the State of the Customer report, which I just published, As we’re recording this a month and a half ago, uncovered that 96% of respondents are using AI.
In their business in some shape or form. But even the acceptance from a consumer perspective, really surprised me. So a lot of us as consumers are totally okay with brands using AI to help analyse data, to write content. So I feel there’s a real shift in the online business space where we’re just accepting that AI has got its benefits. It can definitely be super beneficial for
particularly solo business owners who have very limited capacity. And as you said, it’s about that intentionality that goes with how you interact with it, how you build with it, how you integrate it into, your customer experience and your your customer journey. So yeah, excited to touch on all the things, all the cool things that you are doing, particularly in Her AI club. So obviously I’ve been on the receiving end of what you’re doing in the club, but
Just to start off can you give some examples of the cool things that you and your members have built inside the club that supports the customer experience?
Kinsey Soderberg (07:08)
so many things, right? I know I’m always like where what should I
Nadine (07:10)
Where do you start, right?
Kinsey Soderberg (07:12)
share? I know, yeah, okay, and I love that you brought it down to like the customer experience part of it because definitely when you start looking into AI tools, ooh, what the could they do for
me? You’ve probably experienced this. It feels it can feel a little overwhelming with
Nadine (07:28)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (07:29)
all the things you can do and
all the options you have, right? And then of course as well, just a little warning, guys, when you start building something, you’re like, okay, I’m just gonna build this simple thing. Like and at first, like it doesn’t it seems kind of like o like unthinkable to you. You know, I’m gonna build this thing. like can we do this? I don’t know. And then you build something and then all of a sudden A is like, and do you want to also add this to it? And do you want
to make it even better in this way? And then all of a sudden it just snowballs into all the things, right? So
That happens a lot. I think it’s actually happened with you, right?
Nadine (08:01)
for
sure. I started like with a teeny tiny task and then I’m like, my God, this is cool. I can actually turn this into a lead magnet and like a stripped down version.
Kinsey Soderberg (08:09)
Yes.
Nadine (08:11)
And then I can integrate it into webinars, like all the things. I feel once you
Kinsey Soderberg (08:14)
in a good way.
Nadine (08:15)
once you start playing with it, it’s it just sparks ideas. Again, if you’re intentional,
Kinsey Soderberg (08:20)
Yeah.
Nadine (08:21)
like you need to always question is it valuable? Does it actually make sense? Is it saving me time or is it amplifying that?
experience but yeah anyway sorry I buzzed in you go
Kinsey Soderberg (08:28)
Yep, yep, yep. No, no, you’re good. No, yeah. No, I think I asked you. I was ha you have, right? ‘Cause like I remember
you saying that that like you started building something and then all of a sudden you’re like, Now I’m hooked, right? And so be
Nadine (08:40)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (08:41)
aware guys, that can happen. and it’s so normal to feel like a lot of possibilities and not really want like no know where to start or what to do first, right? So
just as I’m spouting ideas at you, remember that like you get to choose one thing.
I would encourage everyone to just think of one task in their business that they would like to speed up and or one part of their customer journey that you’d like to improve. and especially with customer journeys and experiences, I feel like customizing the experience in a way that you never have been able to before because
it would just take too much time or energy from you. You just don’t have the capacity for it. Like that’s really interesting to think about when it comes to customer experience, right? So
one of the things that I have loved integrating into my business in that customer experience way is offering kind of like custom playbooks, right? Custom snapshots. It’s basically like a custom strategy that is auto-generated for each person who comes to me. And they fill out a little form answering a few questions about themselves, about their business, or whatever intake form you might need.
And then as soon as they hit submit on that form, it runs it through an AI analysis that then produces a report or strategy or snapshot or roadmap or audit on the end that’s like fully branded. A dull it’s like the deliverable that you send off to the customer already, right? so it’s not just like using AI to like go into Claude, ask it to analyze the form of sponsors, give your response that you copy paste into a deliverable. No, it’s like
They’re deliverable, custom strategy is ready within 30 seconds. And then it hits them. What I love about that is that it hits someone with the clarity they need within minutes of
them wanting it and asking for it. so not only is it awesome because you can give custom strategies, custom results to people without really like any input or like touch points from you.
Of course, you guys like these systems and automations and analysis is trained on your frameworks. So it’s not like you’re giving them crap. You’re giving them stuff that you would have already would have created anyway, just like with the help of AI and faster. But what I love about the customer experience is that people pay for fast these days. Like
people have always like had to pay more to get things faster, right? And it’s unheard of to think of like delivering the thing the person wants.
accustomed to them, actionable, implementable within minutes. And when they can get that right at the moment when they’re excited about it, when they’re looking for it, they are much more likely to take action on it, which will
then keep them going, get keep them getting results, keep them going in your funnel and all that stuff. Thoughts?
Nadine (11:24)
Yeah. Yeah. I
I’ve been obsessed with your playbook approach for quite some time. it is such a cool way to draw people in and also make sure that they’re actually reading what they’re signing up for. I
feel the PDF guide that used to work, in 2020 that you download and then read through. It just simply doesn’t hit the same way anymore where AI can give you instant gratification, instant advice.
it just kicks off the journey on this beautifully bespoke note where everything feels relevant and they’re much more primed to then open up every email that comes after, which is cool. Yeah. Obviously there’s
Kinsey Soderberg (12:00)
Ya, yes, yes, yes.
Nadine (12:03)
so much more, but just a little little taste test of what’s what’s possible. yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (12:09)
Yeah. Another thing I’d love to share too are
creating custom tools for your people, right?
so AI makes it really, really easy to vibe code things right now, right?
Nadine (12:20)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (12:21)
And a lot of times, I don’t know if people are thinking this, but like vibe coding is essentially just adding an asking an AI tool. It can be done with Claude or ChatGPT. Regular chats, even free plans can vibe code, you know? And you
literally just open up the chat and you ask it like
Build me this web page, build me this widget, build me this calculator, right? And it will literally code as in coding a website or like an app of some sort, like a little widget or tool or web page or whatever it is for you,
right? And so it’s really, really fun to think through like
A lot of times when people are like integrating AI into their programs and offers, they’re thinking, should I a should I offer them an AI bot or an AI skill or like something like that? But like you can actually just use AI to like vibecode you a calculator or a planner, or
we actually have a build in the club called the Focus Dashboard. I built it clubbies to just build within the first 15 it one of their first builds, it takes 15 minutes.
It’s like a tiny little dashboard. It has like a task list. It has a Pomodoro timer. You know? It has like confetti when the
Nadine (13:29)
Yeah. Yeah, cool.
Kinsey Soderberg (13:31)
th when the count countdown goes on. All these things. they build this in 15 minutes. It’s so fun. but then I had one of my actually I think we’ve had two people at this point ask, hey, is it okay if I like give this as a resource to my clients? And I’m like, yeah, go for it.
Like give them a focused dashboard to use, like if that’s helpful for them.
Or I think someone integrated it into their like client project management hub, like the hub they give their clients to go into
Nadine (13:57)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (13:58)
and things. And it’s just fun to think about like how you can create the tools that like you’ve always wanted and would be cool, but like wasn’t really possible
Nadine (14:06)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (14:07)
’cause you don’t know how to code that stuff, but AI does.
Nadine (14:10)
it’s so easy as as you touched on. I started really little and got hooked pretty quickly. So talking about tools, like one thing I’ve integrated into Retention Lab is a road map planning tool. So where people can
filter all the resources, all the ideas, all the strategies inside the lab, by customer journey stages. whether
Kinsey Soderberg (14:30)
Yeah.
Nadine (14:31)
they’re wanting
intentional list growth right now, whether they want that next purchase, or they select the customer journey stages. And then based on that selection, the tool, drills down into strategies and resources that are relevant to those stages. And they can drag them into this roadmap. They can then keep on hand, refer back to so they don’t have to start from scratch every month. So
Super cool.
And the feedback has been awesome. rather than members coming in going, God, air table base, and I need to filter things and have a look, like, who does that, right? Nobody. it’s just so cool. Plus, I’m also using it in my evergreen sequence. So my nurture sequence. If someone’s showing interest, I actually invite them to have a go at the tool, see what’s possible, see what they could be doing in the next six months. And if I
look at myself, I would have never thought that’s possible. But it’s it’s so easy with AI.
Kinsey Soderberg (15:18)
Yeah. so cool to think about how yeah, I love thinking about it in that entire funnel, right? It’s like
give people something cool. And I like too that you can like make it concrete. Like one of the things I found, tell me if I’m wrong, girl, ’cause I feel like you know all this stuff.
Like, I don’t think people want to like no honestly no one’s gonna wanna sign up for just like a course anymore where
Nadine (15:43)
Yeah. Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (15:44)
they have to sit down and watch
ten lessons or more of like
videos and instructions and then all this like and like and I don’t think that that’s like the learning style in general anymore, right? It’s like step
Nadine (15:57)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (15:57)
by step learning thing, like where it takes that it doesn’t take that long anymore. Like AI can help you do the thing,
right? So it’s really so I think more learning experiences potentially are gonna be more like the pick your own adventure, pick and choose the
Nadine (16:11)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (16:12)
resources as you need them, find them quickly, that sort of stuff. I love how your
solving for that problem. But then also that that becomes a difficult thing when it comes to marketing and messaging, right? Because like all of a sudden you’re like,
we have we have this buffet of resources. Like, how do I market this? And so
Nadine (16:27)
Exactly. There’s so much.
Kinsey Soderberg (16:30)
then I love that like that solution for that. That’s so good.
Nadine (16:35)
and
I had people tell me in the onboarding form that this tool made it so easy for them and they could actually picture what’s happening inside because you can tell people on the sales page after a month in the membership, this is where you’re at. it’s just so intangible. All my members are at different stages of their business journey, in a different niche, they’ve got different combinations of offers. So this just gives them the tool to make sense of what applies to me, which is awesome.
I feel like you have a pretty good radar when it comes to, what’s too much automation? what’s the impact on the human touch? what’s your process to work out the right mix, like am I automating the right things and is this potentially cutting into the human human experience that makes all the difference?
Kinsey Soderberg (17:18)
Mm-hmm. Yeah. I think that everyone has to decide for themselves, of course.
Like, what do you feel comfortable with? and I think that’s a good practice. When you start using AI tools is to like sit down and think, like, what do I feel good automating? What do I not want to automate? And then there’s also like the middle ground, of course, that people don’t like most of my life lives in that middle ground. There’s actually not a lot of things that I just like
fully automate from start
to finish. And usually the things that I do fully automate from start to finish are somewhat more of that back end research or gathering or just putting things in places
Nadine (17:55)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (17:56)
that need to go with specific places, right? so there’s like human manual mode, there’s full on automation that just does the thing without you.
But then there’s that like collaborative working environment with your AI tools where
AI, you’re working with your AI, but it’s also like helping you to speed up processes. And or maybe AI kicks off something but then checks in with
Nadine (18:17)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (18:17)
you and like you get to do the final approval, like that sort of stuff, right? So
remembering, I think, when you’re sitting down to think, what do I want AI, what do I want to use AI for, what I want to automate or like just collaborate, like that’s helpful to think about those
things. and then I will say that when it comes to
honestly anything kind of forward facing in my business, I usually always include a human in the loop,
Nadine (18:41)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (18:41)
any public facing content. I will, you know, make sure I read through my Instagram captions, I will w w any emails that I send, especially any website copy. I’m like like Claude’s writing it. For sure, Claude but Claude’s writing it, but Claude’s stuck in the middle. Usually how it starts is like I give my thoughts and input and strategy and brain download.
Claude writes the thing and then I also check it off at the end, right? so yeah, like I will say Claude is helping me with like or and or Chat GPD, because I’m using both now, right? Right now, girl.
Nadine (19:14)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (19:14)
they’re they’re helping me with most ask the aspects of my business, to be honest. I don’t think that there’s much that I’m fully doing manual anymore, and there’s not much that I’m like fully
automating. It’s very, very much like the
Nadine (19:27)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (19:28)
middle zone for me.
but I will say, you what’s the funny things that we don’t automate? I mean, I don’t automate my Instagram stories, which is one of my biggest converting social media channels,
Nadine (19:39)
yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (19:40)
I would say. I there like there’s no real way to automate it. And so I think that’s why people like it too.
But they also love because I’m like just nerdy showing like taking pictures of my computer all the time.
Nadine (19:48)
You’re great on Instagram. Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (19:50)
Yeah. And then I also like don’t
automate messages to people. I do not automate DMs. We use many chat of course for like the common word,
Nadine (19:59)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (19:59)
get the link that you want, but like I don’t use any automation to like say
hi to new followers. I don’t use any automation to like respond to my DMs. I also like hardly ever automate like my email replies. I will, if it’s like a long, like structured thing that I need to send a client or something, of course I’ll get ChatGPT to write that. But usually I just like
go with it, like voice note my thoughts and just
make it very much me, girly, dumb, millennial, you know? And like I think those human touch points, like those specific human touch points, are the things that you might not want to automate. The like direct contact connection.
Nadine (20:36)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (20:37)
And the cool thing about using AI is that you have time to do that stuff yourself. And I think that
Nadine (20:43)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (20:43)
there’s something to be said about
the vibe that you’re giving off to people and them feeling directly connected to you and like the way it looks for your brand. Like it’s good to like have
those human touch points. But it’s also really good for you to stay connected with other humans as well.
Nadine (20:57)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (20:58)
And I think that’s like another part of it that people don’t think about as much.
Nadine (21:02)
Absolutely.
Yeah, I’m with you. I’m all for automating and simplifying things that can be automated where you being involved isn’t really moving the needle. But then amplifying those unscalable touches, like personal video messages. I love welcoming people into the membership with a Bonjoro video. It’s things like that that make all the difference, right? we all know.
AI helps people write content and emails and AI is involved nowadays, but then to receive a personal video message or voice message from someone is just magical, particularly nowadays. And people go, There is a real person. my God. It is so good.
Kinsey Soderberg (21:38)
You know what’s
hilarious, girl, because like I I use to voice memo all the time and I cannot I cannot cause I think you you might know this about me. I’m a human design projector and I’m self project I talk talk talk you guys.
Nadine (21:49)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (21:52)
So like I can’t voice memo be able ’cause it’ll turn into five minutes like for to answer a simple question.
Nadine (21:56)
Ha ha ha.
Kinsey Soderberg (21:57)
So but I have been using voice to text lately and my voice to text on my Apple iPhone.
Sucks. And like I just
like say that to people, Am I sorry? Like if that didn’t make sense. I was voiced it texty. And that’s kind of like my way to be like, yo, girl, there’s a human on this side. Yeah. Yeah.
Nadine (22:10)
Yeah. It is a person. my God. But it’s so
refreshing to hear from you that you’re not automating, fully handing off the bulk of things in your business. I feel there’s such a push, to outsource everything. And having where did I read the other day? 150 AI employees do everything for you, fully automated.
that sounds like a nightmare to me, particularly as we’re recording this. There’s talk around, AI going rogue and taking over things. I saw somewhere on Instagram someone said, AI went and spent five thousand dollars of business expenses and they just couldn’t stop AI from doing it. I’m just
the cautious type. So I love to be in control and still give permission sometimes Rather than just going, Yep, you knock yourself out, do it all for me. And then you wake up in the morning to this nightmare of content or emails being sent.
Kinsey Soderberg (23:01)
Yeah. Yeah, no, I mean it’s so true. and the way we teach AI honestly is like foundational baby steps in that way, right?
And you know, you can build off each other. So, like how to just train your AI to think like you, then start to build some skills and knowledge files so that you could do repeatable tasks again and again. At that point you might be able to start doing some scheduled tasks and automations
Nadine (23:25)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (23:26)
and things, but that’s still a very controlled environment, you know.
And then a lot of times, yeah, like the next level is gonna be kind of that agentic AI, kind of like that. It’s a little buzzy, a buzzword right now and stuff. And that’s
Nadine (23:38)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (23:38)
where the tools can start doing things themselves, making decisions.
a team member in charge of another AI team member and like
things like that, right? But like that’s where again things could go off the rails. You you definitely can like exercise control. Although I will say, guys, and like let’s be honest here, like
The government frickin’ was telling us or like the government got like hacked and like like AI agents went off the place. something else got hacked the other day. and like things like AI agents the way the tools, Chat GPT and Claud and other tools like that are testing them can definitely just like go off the rails.
That’s not gonna happen to you, most likely. And when you build in that foundational way up to that to like the next level, the next level of automation.
The cool thing is you’re building the blocks that are like putting the boundaries in place and you’re testing as you go, right? So that by the time
Nadine (24:31)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (24:32)
you get up to that point of giving AI even a little bit more access and control,
Nadine (24:37)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (24:38)
your tools and the tr the foundational building blocks of that thing, that agent that you might build are like primed and ready for it ’cause you’ve done that testing and building
along the way. Does that make sense?
Nadine (24:49)
Yeah, yeah. That sounds more logical. it’s again that fear mongering, you’re behind, you need to get into it. And
Kinsey Soderberg (24:54)
I know. people are teaching
AI and without understanding that or thinking about things like that. You know what I mean? So just the
Nadine (25:01)
Absolutely.
Kinsey Soderberg (25:03)
continuing to use your critical thinking skills when it comes to that stuff is very smart, I
Nadine (25:07)
Yeah,
think before you jump on new things is just yeah, so important. Is there one thing you would never fully hand off to AI? is there anything in your business or personal life you would never let AI touch?
Kinsey Soderberg (25:21)
you know what? I love that question. I feel like that’s like one of those questions that I’ve been hearing people asking more and more lately and I haven’t had to answer it yet. So thank you, my love.
Nadine (25:29)
Ha ha ha, here we go.
Kinsey Soderberg (25:31)
Okay, this is gonna sound weird, probably not actually when I say it, but I I’m not as concerned about the AI right now.
as I
am about the people who are in charge of the AI and building the AI. And so
Nadine (25:48)
Yes.
Kinsey Soderberg (25:49)
that’s that’s more my immediate concern
is am I giving my data to people who I do not want to use that to manipulate me in some way, right? So thinking
about like meta like meta AI is like going insane with people’s data that it’s been building and building for years before
before meta even introduced the possibility of AI, which I think is like
the worst part of it, is because Meta AI is taking information from our accounts from way back in the day that like we did not consent to then handing
over to the AI tool, that sort of thing, right? but that’s that’s currently happening, guys. So just like be aware, especially as you’re using AI and Facebook and sharing private photos of your family.
It’s something to be concerned about for sure. but I will say that like when it comes to the AI stuff, I think right now I’m most concerned about handing over my health data. I’m most concerned
about somewhat giving it access to any financial stuff, definitely like keeping it like secure from my personal data that it needs to stay secure, that sort of stuff. so that’s my concern right now. Although I will say like
you know, in the next few years there’s a possibility AI could start to go off and do it its own thing without the AI overlords. You know?
so like I think I’m more c concerned just about I guess privacy and like security versus
Nadine (27:17)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (27:17)
like what would I hand to AI or not. And if it was like a task that I had to choose, I think I’d have to stick with that human to human touch points and stuff because I just
think that’s the most important, you know.
Nadine (27:28)
Yeah,
makes sense. Absolutely. And yeah, privacy. I feel like you never know where your stuff ends up and what happens to it. I think
we sort of touched on it a little bit, but I wanna pick up where we left off. So integrating more complex AI into your customer journey. you said, start small, build your skills and
build on top of that. is there. Any checklist or step by step guide that you share with your members when it comes to being a bit more brave, being a bit more, elaborate with your AI use.
Kinsey Soderberg (27:59)
yes and girl, okay, I’m gonna honest. I was like, no, but it needs to be a checklist now. So I’m like, okay, and I’m gonna go build that after this and then have it ready for you guys.
Nadine (28:07)
There you go. See? You’re welcome.
Kinsey Soderberg (28:10)
Yeah. No, I mean, I think that when you’re starting to dabble in AI, you actually unlocked this for me, Nadine, in like a private conversation we had.
Of course, you know this, but we were talking about how can we get our members like more excited.
And like in the onboarding process, like get them to like feel that, this is so cool. And that yes,
Nadine (28:28)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (28:30)
right? Like right when they join, because we were hitting people with like all of our resources right away and like the big three month
plan. And you know, like that’s great. But like also people are like, there’s so much to do, right?
we decided to do like your first three builds for like the first week that you join her AI Club. You build three easy
15 minute things that kind of help
you to practice some of those skills that can get you started. so I’ll tell you like kind of the concept behind the three builds because I think that’s a really great way to start playing around and like getting used to the tools and stuff. So I think one of the best things you can do when getting started with an AI tool like Claude or ChatGPT, either of these works, one of the best things you can do is to connect your connectors and or plugins
if you’re using ChatGPT.
So a connector or a plugin is just connecting other tools that you use to the platform so that the AI tool can not only access that tool, that other tool that you use and like read the things, but it can also do things in your other
tools, right? Which is so cool when you start doing it. So
Nadine (29:38)
It’s so cool. Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (29:40)
our first build is actually creating an inbox brief skill, which I’ll talk about a skill in a second.
But essentially
you connect your AI tool to your Gmail, and then you create this skill that goes in and reads your in emails in your inbox every morning and then comes back and gives you a brief
of what’s important, what can wait, what can just be deleted, right?
the skill that we build is another thing that’s really great to start practicing with and using AI.
Skills are essentially like what custom GPTs used to be in a way. It’s like
Kind of this, it’s either repeatable knowledge or repeatable tasks that you do again
Nadine (30:20)
Yep.
Kinsey Soderberg (30:20)
and again. And you can just like create what’s called a skill or a skill file in either cloud or chat GPT and like your ChatGPT or Cloud will automatically like use that skill when it’s about to do the task you want it to do, right? So
for that first build for the inbox brief, we build a skill.
that’s train it interviews you, it it’s like asks you what’s important to you, what should we look out for? What kind of business do you do? Do you look for client emails or what emails are important to you? So then it creates the skill that’s trained on like how you run your inbox. And then
Nadine (30:52)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (30:52)
that skill can be used every morning to with a scheduled task actually to go in and read your your inbox for you and give you that brief, right?
So that’s our first build. The second build is what we call an idea park system. So
This is for using AI on the go. If you’ve ever been like walking down the street, driving in the car, standing in line for coffee, and you’re like, have this idea that flu like comes into your brain. You’re like, my gosh, I have to remember this. This is so awesome. Or I had this random idea, but it’s like, it’s like bat like battering me in the head. I need to like put it somewhere so I can like keep moving on with my day, right? that’s what this system helps you do. So essentially it’s a database we like to recommend Airtable.
Using a connector
with Claude or ChatGPT again. And then we build another skill file. The skill is trained to take your random ideas that you share with your Claud or ChatGPT and then log them away in your Airtable Database idea park so you can remember them so your Claude
can go and find them again when you’re ready, but like they’re organized somewhere. You
Nadine (31:55)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (31:56)
don’t just even share it with your AI and like it goes into the AI conversation abyss. Like, no, it’s logged in your idea park so you know where to find it.
and that’s really fun for using Claude or ChatGPD from your phone. This is another really simple thing that I don’t think enough people are doing is downloading
Nadine (32:13)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (32:13)
their AI app, the AI tool app to their phone, and then getting Claude to go log something in Airtable for you, to go update your website,
to go do these things from your phone while you’re on the go, right? That was fun.
Nadine (32:26)
Yes. So cool. I need to do that. I’m in the car a lot, you
know, three kids, mum taxi. So I need to do that. But that is so cool because you’re touching on all the critical things people need to set up to get
success. You know, connect your other programs you’re using, build a skill. So in that little, you know, onboarding snippet, you’re touching on
the critical things and people have a quick win.
Kinsey Soderberg (32:49)
Yeah. And then the third one is the focus dashboard, vibe coding, a little widget. It’s like so fun. And it appear
Nadine (32:57)
Yay.
Kinsey Soderberg (32:57)
you’re just like, build my focus dashboard, and it like appears in five minutes.
And like it’s got the Pomodoro timer and the playlist that you can integrate, like your Spotify playlist and like the
tasks that and like people are like, This is vibe coding, right? Because part like guys, it’s so easy and like the hardest part is just like
opening up a chat and asking Claude to do it ’cause you’re
Nadine (33:19)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (33:19)
like, I don’t know how to do this but it’s like so simple, you know.
Nadine (33:22)
It is super
simple. Yeah. the Her AI Summit is coming up, which is always super exciting. So
Kinsey Soderberg (33:29)
Yeah.
Nadine (33:29)
yeah, is it the second year you’ve been running the summit? Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (33:32)
It’s year two. Yep.
Nadine (33:34)
So her AI Summit is back this year and I’m one of the speakers, which is amazing. I’m getting to share one of the experiences I’ve built that I was touching on,
So, do you want to tell listeners a little bit about the event, what to expect, and where they can get their ticket?
Kinsey Soderberg (33:49)
my gosh, yes. We’re so excited to have you too, Nadine. Because like okay, one of the things that I appreciate
about about you is that you have that similar like creative mind, creative energy that I feel like I have as well, where we’re just like,
Nadine (34:03)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (34:03)
ooh, but how can we make this more fun? How can we make this more cool and interactive? Right. And
Nadine (34:08)
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (34:08)
so like when you apply it’s like, yeah, we need to see what Nadine’s building because it’s like the same kind of like frame, like, this is so fun.
Nadine (34:15)
Similar, right? Like experiment.
Yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg (34:17)
Yes. Okay, so her
AI era summit. It’s happening October twelfth through the 16th of 2026. It’s fully virtual this year. Girl, we’ll talk later about potentially next year, but yeah,
Nadine (34:28)
Ha ha ha.
Kinsey Soderberg (34:29)
fully virtual, fully free. and we have thirty-six speakers, I believe, this year across
five different tracks. So if you want to learn about monetization, marketing, systems, and ops.
Creative, which is my track. I’m gonna be talking about vibe coding widgets. Again, because my favorite new thing.
Nadine (34:47)
Yay.
Kinsey Soderberg (34:48)
And then empowerment as well, because part of our branding for this summit, it’s female empowerment. Female empowerment using AI. You know, you’re coming. There’s actually guys, we have a tagline. Sorry, boys in the audience, but no boys allowed for this one. It’s only women using AI tools in your business, nerding out.
asking the fun,
dumb questions, like feeling like, ooh, I wanna do this thing. Ooh, this is so cool, you know. so it’s gonna be a super fun five days and Nadine is our speaker. So keep an eye out. I’m not sure what day your talk’s gonna come out yet, girl, but
we’ll we’ll keep you know, on the edge of their seat.
Nadine (35:27)
Exactly. Suspense.
But yeah, make sure you grab your ticket via the link in the show notes
I’ll link it all up. make sure yeah you grab your ticket. It is definitely worth attending. There’s so many cool speakers and topics and things to explore and also ideas to walk away with. you don’t have to do everything. It’s about picking what works for you and sparking your own ideas for your business. So yeah, amazing. Thank you so much for joining me on the podcast, Kinsey.
It was awesome. you are awesome, And I love your take on AI. So thanks for coming on the show. Make sure you grab your free ticket, people. And if you haven’t subscribed or followed the show yet, make sure you hit the subscribe and follow button and I will be back in your Airpods next week.
Kinsey Soderberg (36:12)
Thank you.
