In this episode, I’m talking about something I see more and more often with online business owners.
They ask AI to improve their messaging and tweak their sales page accordingly. Then they ask it again. And again.
Instead of getting clearer, they become more confused about their original message.
Join me as I explore the story of a recent client who reached out with exactly this problem after months of trying to improve her sales page using AI. Every edit seemingly solved a tiny issue, but the bigger picture became blurrier with every version.
We’ll explore why endless tweaking can feel productive without actually moving your business forward, how AI can unintentionally pull you further away from your original message, and the signs that it’s time to stop editing and start thinking strategically instead.
Why endless AI edits can make your messaging less effective
The difference between tweaking and strategic clarity
Why speed isn’t always an advantage in marketing
Four warning signs you’ve fallen into the AI tweaking trap
How to tell whether your messaging problem is a strategy problem in disguise
Why human perspective still matters in an AI-powered world
When outside feedback becomes the fastest way forward
“AI makes this particularly tricky now because it’s faster than ever to generate a new version of something. You know, that sales page, your website, your lead magnet. which means it’s also faster than ever to drift further away from that original message and from that crystal clear picture you had at some point without realizing. The speed of tweaks and edits and DIY updates is actually outpacing the clarity that needs to come with it.’
“Tweaking and DIY conversations with chat without a clear strategic foundation simply moves the problem around. And you are never going to find the messaging, the direction, the structure, the customer journey that is going to move your customer to where they need to be to be ready to invest.”

Hello, hello, and welcome back to another episode of the podcast. Today we are addressing the elephant in the room answering this particular question.
How do I know whether I’m on the right track tweaking myself or if it’s time to bring in outside help? So we’ve spent the last few episodes, if you’ve been listening, talking about blind spots in your own business because you are simply too close to your own audience, your own offer, your own message. We’ve talked about the moments that matter and how to diagnose where your customer journey might be falling apart.
And we’ve also explored how listening to what your customers are telling you can absolutely be a game changer for your offer creation, your messaging, your marketing, and the future of your business, particularly in the age of AI where everything seems somewhat up in the air. So today we’re going to talk about the point where you work out that DIY tweaking has stopped working for you and
What might be that next logical step for you? Because there’s a very specific signal that tells you it might be time. And I want to help you spot it in your own business. So recently I worked with a business owner who had been tweaking her own course sales page using AI. Hands up if you you’ve been doing that previously, you’ve asked chat for some feedback.
And while on paper, that sounds super efficient because you get quick edits, chat turns it around pretty much instantly. There’s no waiting on anyone else to give you that feedback. And, you know, the amends and the edits and the tweaks to make, there is one big problem that goes with that process of instant gratification and instant tweaks. The more my client kept tweaking.
And kept resorting to chat, the more muddled her messaging became. And each round of edits that she made herself, while it solved one small thing, the bigger picture and the bigger problem that she was avoiding to address got even blurrier. So by the time she came to me, she had lost all clarity around her own messaging. And she really didn’t
Have a clear picture on what her audience needed to hear anymore.
those bodgy patch jobs with AI eventually mean that you have no idea what you were trying to say at the beginning of that process. And you are so far down a rabbit hole.
That is impossible to backtrack out of.
The problem is that tweaking feels like you’re making progress because you’re doing something. But tweaking and DIY conversations with chat without a clear strategic foundation simply moves the problem around. And you are never going to find the messaging, the direction, the structure, the customer journey that is going to move your customer to where they need to be to be ready to invest.
AI makes this particularly tricky now because it’s faster than ever to generate a new version of something. You know, that sales page, your website, your lead magnet. which means it’s also faster than ever to drift further away from that original message and from that crystal clear picture you had at some point without realizing. So
The speed of tweaks and edits and DIY updates is actually outpacing the clarity that needs to come with it. Every tweak is skipping reflection and an outside perspective. That is not AI. And that’s the trap a lot of business owners are sitting with right now without realizing.
So if you’re now wondering, Nadine, I’ve been talking to Chat or Claude a lot lately, doing exactly that. DIY tweaking, getting chat to sense check my messaging. How do I know whether I have a problem? So if you’ve made the same fix more than once, so you’ve asked Chat or Claude to take a look at your sales page and tweak the messaging more than once, but
The problem is still there, the cause or the product or the offer still not sell not selling, that might be an indicator. If you can’t clearly explain what you do and who you do it for and why it matters, even though you’ve rewritten that statement a dozen times, that could be an issue. If you feel more confused and uncertain after tweaking with AI than you were.
before you started that process, you might have a problem.
if your feedback on your messaging that you get from AI or a person, heavens forbid, is somewhat inconsistent or contradictory and you can’t tell clearly whether the problem is the message or the person reading it.
then you might have a problem.
So, if two or more of those statements that I just shared with you feel familiar and resonate with you, I’d say it’s definitely time to step away from those DIY edits with AI, pause for a moment, and invite a human outside perspective instead, where you don’t skip that reflection moment where you have an open discussion.
with a human who can reason, a human who can relate on a human level, and a human who can also give you honest feedback without necessarily sugar coating things like AI does.
if you now feel Nadine, I would definitely love your take, your human perspective on my pickle that I’m stuck with. I can definitely help you do just that via my done for you human first conversion and retention pathways. There are two options. the catalyst, which is very handy when something specific in your customer journey isn’t working. So a particular moment that matters.
A particular point where things seem broken, a particular piece of friction,
if you’ve realized that it is not one particular moment on your customer journey, but there is a bigger problem in the way you’re approaching your offer, your messaging, and your marketing, then I highly recommend the intensive, which is where we go deep on your audience, your offer, your business, your messaging, you name it.
We start with strategic audience and customer research. We’re looking at your data from your existing funnel, how that’s been performing, what hasn’t been performing. We’re then going to give you messaging clarity, offer clarity, and strategy when it comes to conversion and retention. That’s built on real data and real insights rather than assumptions. It removes AI from the picture and it’s going to give you a deep
human first perspective on what it takes to design your funnel and your customer journey in a way that re-resonates on a deeper level and that pays attention to the signals your audience is sending you. So both of those are linked up in the show notes. If you have any questions, please reach out. I’m happy to have a conversation with you to help you work out which one is the right fit for your specific situation.
That’s it for this week. Hopefully, the last few episodes have really helped you get clear on the best approach for your business when it comes to diagnosing your customer journey, understanding the importance of audience research, talking to your customers, but then also taking their feedback with a grain of salt and listening to it without filtering out the goodness.
And yeah, thank you so much for listening in every week. I so appreciate it. If you haven’t yet, please hit that subscribe button and I will absolutely see you in the next episode. Have a good one.
